Colombian Decaf

Bag of Fower Coffee Colombian Decaf

A mild, easy-drinking Colombian decaf that holds its own in a latte or flat white — no big flavour statement, but a genuinely pleasant everyday cup.

My experience

I've been using it with my Breville Barista Slimline and the pressurised portafilter that came with the machine, and I've enjoyed it. I didn't get much aroma off this one, either from the bag or after grinding, and the flavour itself is pretty understated too — nothing jumped out and demanded my attention. But that's not a criticism here. I enjoyed every cup I made, mild flavour or not, and there's something to be said for a coffee that's just easy to drink without any fuss.

I've drank it as a latte, flat white and cortado. Using both double shots and single shots.

I drink both cow's milk and coconut milk, and this coffee pairs well with either. Sometimes I think the coconut milk can over power the coffee flavour with this one.

Worth noting: at the time of buying and writing this, I don't have a grinder, so this was bought as pre-ground coffee.

What I liked

What I didn't

  • Haven't tried it black or via filter yet, so can't comment on that side
  • Not much aroma from the bag or after grinding
  • Coconut milk drinkers might find it gets a bit lost — cow's milk lets more of the flavour through

Who would like this

This is a nice mild decaf in my eyes.

Who might not

If you are looking for a strong flavour profile you probably won't enjoy it.

Best brewing method

Espresso machine — that's all I've tried it as so far, and honestly I haven't felt the need to try anything else yet.
